Walking on the hard-crusted snow
my thoughts were on you
how often you told me
not in words, but in actions
how dumb, how vapid
you think me
Ice cracking beneath my feet
I'm remembering
how often you made me feel
useless and foolish
your biting words
made me blush in shame
Pushing through the drifting snow
Recalling how you told me
I was smothering you
holding you back from all
the things you could be
stealing you future
my thoughts were on you
how often you told me
not in words, but in actions
how dumb, how vapid
you think me
Ice cracking beneath my feet
I'm remembering
how often you made me feel
useless and foolish
your biting words
made me blush in shame
Pushing through the drifting snow
Recalling how you told me
I was smothering you
holding you back from all
the things you could be
stealing you future

There is a lot of hurt in that poem.
