Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire

My daughter, Danielle and I attended the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire. We had a fantastic time and I thought I would share some of the photographs of our fab day.

We met the Queen and her court strolling through the village.

 

Isn't she lovely, I love the costumes!

These ladies serenaded us, they were so charming.

 

We watched a mud wrestling wedding, what fun! The "bride" was so funny.

My lovely daughter, Danielle tried on some of the masks they were selling at the booths. I love how her eyes are the major focal point, even though she is wearing an elaborate mask.

I love the kilt! He was directing the grape tossing contest.

Isn't he great, I love the stockings and his woeful pirate expression.

We tasted wine at the wine tasting booth, but I think the bartender is trying to taste more than the wine!

As the day came to a close, we attended the jousting match.  This lovely lady was selling flowers.

Let the jousting begin! Of course the Queen's knights won the match.

We ended the day with a visit to the gift shop and some more wine tasting. It was great fun and I'll be sure and have my wench costume ready for next year!

Fog and Spider webs

The other day I took my dog for a walk in the fog and of course I had my camera along.

We walked to the marina near our house and along the way I spotted this ring of mushrooms on someone's lawn

As we walked along the road to the marina I noticed a spider web strung along the tip of a boat, the whole web was covered with tiny drops of mist, it was beautiful!

Walking into our yard I noticed hundreds of spider webs, small ones, large ones, all different shapes, they were all covered with tiny drops of mist.  There were dual ones on my yucca plant.

I started photographing them and I was amazed at the beauty of these webs, some were very thick and some were very thin and fragile looking.

 

 

 

 

 

And I noticed that this guy had webs on him!

Yeah, maybe he sat there a little too long!

Getting Ready for Halloween

It's time to decorate for Halloween, so I get out the twine and scissors, but first I grab the wine bottle and pour myself a little fortification.

I know it will take a long while to put up all the spider webs and cornstalks, so I figure it won't hurt to take a little breather, I know, I know, I haven't even started yet!

There they are, they're usually sitting on top of my head, while I spend half an hour looking for them.

 

What is that look for, I'm the one doing all the work?

Wow, I finally finished the webs and they really do look great, but I sure could use another breather, so I'll plop down on the love seat for a little break, and maybe another glass of the dark elixir wouldn't hurt either.

  Back to work, I have to finish before sunset and at the rate I'm going it might be sunset tomorrow.

Hey, I wonder if I could use this somewhere.

I finished with the cornstalks and scarecrows, but I think they may be laughing at me.

NO, it was this fellow, but I don't think he has much to laugh about, not with those dentures.

Of course it starts to rain, it's time to put up the fence.

Last thing is to hang the flag, yea I know the letters are backwards, but that's because I took the picture from the wrong side, besides it adds a little playfulness, don't you think. OK, so I'm just too tired to flip it.

And now I sit here and contemplate my feet and the crack in the cement.

A Visit to Port Norris

I visited my daughter in Port Norris, NJ for the weekend and we spent a day visiting the marshes and scenic spots around them. This is the old church in Bivalve, NJ. Once a year they have a celebration called Bay Day. The tall ship A.J. Meerwald is anchored here part of the year, and they give boat tours during Bay Day.
