Ravelry Swap

I participated in a swap on Ravelry, and I had a lot of fun knitting things for my swap partner. It was a Lion Brand Organic Cotton Swap.

I knitted this neck warmer for her. It is knitted from Lion Brand Organic Cotton, on a #6 needle. The colorway is vanilla and I used 1 3/4 skeins. The top part is knitted in two kinds of rib stitch and them the bottom is finished with a crochet edging. I made the pattern up as I went along.
Then I knitted these gauntlets with a cable stitch and added crochet edging with gold buttons down the sides to give the effect of buttoned gloves. I used Lion Brand Organic Cotton in the color way of Bark. They were knitted on #3 needles. I made this pattern up as I went along also.  My beautiful daughter was kind enough to model them for me.
I ordered these lovely sterling silver, rose quartz earrings from an etsy seller.
These stitch markers were also from an etsy seller. I really like the colors.
I knitted and filled these little sachet pillows. She told me her favorite colors were purple and green. She likes the colors in jewel tones.
I knitted this dish cloth from Lion Brand Organic Cotton, the colorway is Cypress.
With the bits of leftover yarn, I decided to knit and crochet this washrag for her. As you can see I ran out of the Bark color just before I reached the end of the row. I hope she doesn't mind too much.
This is a little cucumber candle I included, because she said she liked candles.
This is the whole package. Included, was a skein of  Lion Brand Organic Cotton and a bar of Anise soap.
I really hope she likes her package!

A Few Things

I just wanted to share a few things from around the house. This is a little framed picture that a close friend once gave me. It sits on my dresser, so I can see it when i wake up.
My lampshade in my bedroom.
The umbrella that hangs over my bed.
My collection of ties to wear when I feel quirky.
My Little Prince asleep on my bed.
Teddy bears awaiting adoption on the shelf in my workroom.
An old dress form for holding collections of things.
The lovely pleats in the back of my daughters night gown.
Soaps in the bathroom.
I love the color of this bottle.
 Toaster with crumbs and tomato.
Glass shoes on my kitchen window sill.
My daughter's drumsticks. This collection is just my mornings musings.

Welcome to my spring garden!

I am finally feeling well enough to update my blog. I had a nasty flu virus and felt under the weather. My spring garden is lovely, but overgrown with weeds, since I haven't felt well enough to garden. This doesn't stop my garden from flourishing anyway.
 The Wisteria in full bloom!
 Jerry's red and yellow Tulips
The gorgeous Lilacs
My Scotch Broom in full bloom!
My sweet chives, I just love them.
The mounds of oregano
 Strawberry plants
Pretty green mint
My pretty little Spiderwort
 I love my Rosemary!
The yellow Iris
 A Peony bud with ant
 And without ant
Very orange Azalea
A very orange Rose
 Peace Rose bud
Lovely old fashioned Rose
I am so thrilled, my Yucca is going to bloom!
My indoor windowsill garden, my little African Violet
My tomato seedlings when they first popped up
Now along with the peppers, which took longer to sprout
And this brings me to the end, with a couple of things everyone considers weeds, but they have their own beauty!
I hope you enjoyed your visit to my spring garden. The Zebra is a fixture in my garden!
I wish everyone green thumbs!
